In Miranda v Arizona, the Supreme Court rules that suspects in a

U.S. planes begin bombing of Hanoi area of North Vietnam.
Beginning of Medicare program in which government pays part of
the medical expenses of citizens over 65. Controversial American
comedian Lenny Bruce is found dead of a drug overdose in his
